BRCA 5th Circuit National 2025 Round 1 and 2 race report

With what seemed like a lifetime without any racing due to the winter break, the 1/5 circuit nationals were finally underway. 

Drivers from all four corners of the UK arrived raring to go at Cotswolds RC track. 

The weather was ultimately a bit changeable as always at the start of the British summertime but that didn’t stop the great attendance of drivers who came. 

The Cotswolds RC track was in excellent condition as always and very welcoming thanks to Neal Vater and his committee. 

The format for our “double header” round was Saturday practice followed by two days (Sunday/Monday) of qualifying and finals on each day. 

Saturday practice got off to a slightly wet start but that didn’t stop a lot of the 4wd class getting on track followed by the 2wd class later in the day when things got grippy!!

Round 1 Sunday qualifying, we were blessed with great weather all day which meant a very smoothly run race day and some great track time for all. The finals, again track conditions were perfect which meant some epic battles in all classes. 

Round 2 Monday qualifying, unfortunately our luck ran out and we were not so blessed with wet conditions which meant a lot of set up changes for drivers and the use of wet tyres. 

As the day progressed the sunshine started to make an appearance which lead to a vote to rerun Q3 of qualifying so everyone could have a dry heat. 

By the finals the track had become “faster” with some amazing times set in all classes. 

All in all a great weekend for all drivers with plenty of smiles and an electric atmosphere. 

A massive thanks to all the people involved with Cotswold RC track for providing us with an amazing venue to stage our first rounds of the series and special thanks to all the committee for managing another perfectly run event.
